The Chemical Physics Program at CU-Boulder offers graduate education and
research in exciting cutting-edge fields:

One of the greatest strengths of this program is the highly interdisciplinary
environment in Boulder, with many world-renowned institutes located
either right on campus or within walking distance, including the Cooperative
Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES), JILA (operated
jointly by CU and the National Institute of Standards and Technology), the
National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Graduate students who are interested in incorporating optics into their training
now have the opportunity to participate in the innovative Optical Science and Engineering
Program (OSEP), which focuses on developing the "employable quintet" of knowledge and
skills that prospective employers identify in effective employees, namely:
- in-depth technical knowledge
- problem solving in a laboratory setting
- flexibility in learning and working
- an ability to work in teams
- clarity in both oral and written communication
Graduate programs at CU-Boulder in the areas of physical chemistry;
chemical physics; and atomic, molecular, and optical physics are consistently ranked in
the top ten internationally.
